Holiday Update

Cindy: Getting plenty of sleep in time to see this year's Oscars.

Feltz: The show itself - not the most thrilling, and also somewhat low in babe-age (admittedly after last year - Alba! Hayek! Johansson! Etc! - there was a lot to live up to). Apart from Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gwyneth Paltrow...

Cindy: ...and Jennifer Hudson.

Feltz: Trying to see how much passage from Waterloo to Ubeda via Malaga , plus hotel, would cost. I'm not going yet, not until July, but they won't process it yet. Gah. And I want to know how much it costs now! Now, dammit, now!

Cindy: Chapter Seventeen of Heroes (not showing up on Sci-Fi for about 14 weeks). Seriously, how frikking awesome was that? Development, tension, heartbreak, loads of Hayden (delivering both heartthrob- and acting-wise; ditto Jack Coleman and Greg Grunberg in the acting division), kickass effects, tearjerking ending ("I love you, Claire-bear..."), and Eric Roberts not sucking. Stunning. Jen, I command you to start watching this.

Feltz: TheArchivist still not being able to see the series thanks to the show Mad magazine parodied as Louse, S.O.B. being on directly opposite it in Australia. I know it's not bombing there, but pull your fingers out, Seven. (Bonus Feltz: The dicks in the UK dismissing it after three episodes. Patience will be rewarded - this isn't Invasion, you know.)

Cindy: Well, er... hang on...

Feltz: Being late for my blood extraction on Monday (I thought it was at 10:30, it was at 9 am), having to reschedule it for Tuesday, being late (only 10 minutes, but still late) thanks to a bus delay, and then having to tell the diabetic nurse that I've been behind in my pills lately. And her not taking it well.

Cindy: Cindy being on The Tyra Banks Show for half an hour.

Feltz: Cindy only being on The Tyra Banks Show for half an hour.

Saturday randomness.

So eBay is playing up for some reason. And I've only just gotten over a furious argument with some pseudo-intellectual on the Guardian's Organ Grinder blog about Heroes. And Abbey National's taking £140 in overdrawing fees, and I'm pissed again.

And Channel 4's 100 Greatest Sex Symbols has somehow found room for Tony Blair. And Prince William. FUCK OFF.

Random

At last, work's eased up a bit... Yahoo! kindly made the pilot for The Black Donnellys available online... I tried to watch it this morning but it's not available... the Bilson devotee wants the complete sets of The Lord of the Rings soundtracks as well... that Antonella person from American Idol doesn't remind me of Cindy; dream on... and I have nothing else to say.

This is an outrage.

Beyonce "Upstage me, will you? Suck on this, Hudson!" Knowles on the cover of Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue is, as Edith Bowman would say, just a little bit wrong. Christie Brinkley belongs there. So do Elle Macpherson and Petra Nemcova. So do sportswomen who can pull off lounging on a beach (Anna Kournikova, Maria Sharapova, Steffi Graf, Natalie Gulbis etc). But not Beyonce... she is not a professional model, nor a sporty type. (Come to think of it, she also isn't an actress - witness The Pink Panther, Austin Powers in Goldmember, that terrible Carmen thing...)

Not that looking at her is a great hardship - certainly a lot easier to take than this past week at work (lots of throwing and sorting, lots of stress, lots of wondering when exactly I'm going to crack and get sick of cleaning up before everyone as opposed to after, etc), but man am I glad I've got a day off next week and the week after.

Even though King Butch already posted the one of Marisa Miller, she's still more deserving of the cover than Beyonce. Here she is and three others who share that honour. Good night.

"And then there are those times that just plain suck."

Cindy: Booked my tickets for the London Film and Comic Con in September. My first ever convention, and I'm attending for one reason and one reason only.

Feltz
:
Jericho. My rule of thumb is that if I'm not sufficiently engaged by something after three episodes, then it's done. One less thing to set the personal planner for. (I should have known with the presence of Ashley Scott and Jon National Treasure Turteltaub.)

Cindy: Dinner with Sharon after work on Friday. Nice pleasant time in a non-smoking pub.

Feltz: The gammon steak was too salty. Hey, I have to put something.

Cindy:
Tuesday, February 27th: "Tyra's Tribute to Cindy Crawford" - Tyra pays tribute to one of the biggest supermodels in the world! Tyra welcomes her role model, Cindy Crawford, to discuss life after modeling, her family and new business ventures.

Feltz: LivingTV's unwillingness to show non-season one episodes of The Tyra Banks Show (we don't all watch her other show, you know). I need to have this episode, dammit!

Cindy: Deciding to go to the
Ubeda Film Music Conference this summer (in July), also allowing me to get out of the country for a bit. I've never been to Spain, and it's also a chance to actually save some money for once.

Feltz of the Month: Anna Nicole Smith. And the revolting comments many have spewed forth as a result.

The wrong Cindy and the right Cindy.

Since it's about time there was a post relating to the title of this blog, a little lesson for some of y'all out there - this is not Cindy Crawford. This, as well as being one of the few SFW pictures of her out there, is the porn star with the same name.

This is, and always will be, Cindy Crawford.

Any questions?
(Special thanks to my friend and world-class True Cindy fan Valdi!)

Cindy: cheerleader heaven!

Chapter 14 of Heroes via two video sites (the first one went to "Loading..." just as a certain character said "Maybe we should leave this for next time" - great timing!). What an episode... all killer, no filler (not even from Ali Larter). And while some fans did spot who Claire's biological father was, the revelation certainly bowled me over - to keep from spoiling it for TheArchivist I won't give it away here...

Then what should be on cable now but Man of the House. Christina Milian, Monica Keena, Paula Garces, Vanessa Ferlito and Kelli Garner as cheerleaders, in a silly but entertaining tale (scored by one of my favourite composers, David Newman of The Brave Little Toaster fame). All Wednesdays should start like this...

Bridge to Terabithia

Haven't heard of the book, but may check the movie out when it launches in the UK on May 4th; it certainly does sound above average, though the Fantasy Movie advertising doesn't seem like it'll help. The soundtrack is on Hollywood Records, and the House of Mouse actually seems to be releasing it on CD this time (as opposed to iTunes exclusives - Eight Below, The Guardian, The Santa Clause: The Escape Clause, Deja Vu). The sound clips of Aaron Zigman (The Notebook, John Q, Akeelah And The Bee)'s score are by no means bad, but I'm kind of wishing they could have dumped some of the songs and put in more of his work, especially since this is a "Music from and Inspired by" album - Hannah Montana and the cute-sexy indestructible cheerleader can stay, ditto Bethany Dillon, but I hatehateHATE Leigh Nash (Sixpence None The Richer are unforgivable). And I have a horrible feeling Miss Robb will be over the end credits instead of Miley 'n' Hayden on account of a) her being in the movie and b) the music video attached... proper score CD post anon.

1. I Learned From You - Miley Cyrus
2. Try - Hayden Panettiere
3. Keep Your Mind Wide Open - AnnaSophia Robb
4. A Place For Us - Tyler James and Leigh Nash
5. Another Layer - John McLaughlin
6. Shine - The Skies Of America
7. Look Through My Eyes - Everlife
8. Right Here - Jeremy Camp
9. When You Love Someone - Bethany Dillon

10. Seeing Terabithia - Aaron Zigman
11. Into The Forest - Aaron Zigman
12. The Battle - Aaron Zigman
13. Jesse's Bridge - Aaron Zigman

It can't be fun to be Jen right now.

Maybe when I told her there were such things as flukes, that did it. And doomed her to watch Peyton Manning and Co. win.

The poor thing...

And finally, another actual post about Cindy.

I don't really believe this is really her MySpace, but it's fun to imagine, ain't it?

Current mood: gloomy.

Because on Friday we were all yelled at at work, for good reason I'll admit - there has been some difficulty lately. But, while none of us were singled out I felt the same way I always do when someone in my circle gets berated.... like it's somehow my fault. Even when it isn't.

Because it's still a week before payday and I'm utterly skint, with just enough for my Oyster card. Thank goodness for travel allowance, that's all I can say.

Because it's foggy outside.

Because the fridge still doesn't allow for longterm storage of food in the non-freezer section.

Because the worst thing about believing in cycles is that you have to wait for things to swing up again.

We could all use something to cheer us up. So here's another of my staff, Aria Giovanni. Enjoy.

Because I'm pissed off and I want to blow off steam a bit.

Question: If Perez Hilton, Victoria Newton and the folks at Hecklerspray had a fight to the death, who would win?

Answer: Us, if they all killed each other.

That is all. Good night, and good luck.
