The Number Of The Beast Post.

Nothing Satanic here, it's just that this is the 666th post on this blog. So that mentioned...

If there's one thing that irks me about the celebslash series The Harem, it's that half the messages on a story group that I'm a member of are from people suggesting women to include. This is irritating for two reasons:

1. There's such a thing as staying power to consider (making an immediate splash is all very well, but being there for the long haul helps), and

2. Inundating poor Mr. B with requests gets in the way of women he himself might like to write about, and also robs requestees of actually contributing stories themselves. Okay, not everyone can put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard, as it were) but you can at least try.

Also irritating: people who don't have a TV and feel the need to lecture people about how superior they are for not having one, but that's another story. (Suffice to say this does not apply to Aria Giovanni, who posted on her blog about her lack of a box but didn't feel the need to condescend about it. A lesson many would be wise to heed.)

And now here are pictures of Jessica Alba, Mariah Carey and Laetitia Casta.

Good night, and may the good news be yours.

The Not The Song From "The House Bunny" Post.

My favourite reality-TV-created performer, Katharine McPhee, hits US cinemas this weekend (and UK cinemas in October) with The House Bunny. At the end of the movie, presumably, she and other cast members regale us with a version of "I Know What Boys Like." So instead here is the sexy Katharine doing "Connected" for Barbie and the Diamond Castle, since it's an actually good (or at least listenable) record.

The Honestly Seriously Now That's What I'm Talkin' 'Bout Post.

By now we've all seen those blessed pictures of Cindy sunbathing topless, and by now it's pretty damn clear that I can't actually post any of them here. But I can still link...

The Happy Birthday Rosanna Post.

Apologies to Tom:

She was my first love. She's gotten four of her finest hours out on Region 1 DVD with The Executioner's Song (and for all the complaining in some quarters that this isn't the version with her nude scenes, you get a clearer story out of it - so I think that's an even swap). She's a mother (of Zoe, illustrated above with her). She's been linked to more musicians than Pamela Des Barres (Steve Porcaro, James Newton Howard, Peter Gabriel, Paul McCartney). She's inspired at least one song ("Rosanna") and possibly two ("In Your Eyes," aka The Song John Cusack Plays For Ione Skye In Say Anything...). She's been in way too many things beneath her (What About Brian? Oh man...), but she's scored some gems to boot. She wiped the floor with Madonna as an actress and as a beauty, and on Dirt and The L Word she wiped the floor with her in the field of same-sex kissing as well. She's still working. She's a fave of mine. She's 49 today. She's hotter than her younger sister. She's Rosanna Lauren Arquette.

The Now That's What I'm Talkin' 'Bout Post.

Here's Cindy relaxing in the South of France this week with her hubby and her hubby's mate George Clooney, who does not appear in any of the four pictures I chose to upload because I don't want him around here if I can help it. In fact, I'm sorry her hubby's there... Vanity Fair does have more than two shots of her, for which much thanks, but MAN this is more like it. And unlike some women I can mention (coughHelenMirrencough), this is after having had two kids.
