Putting Patty from Square Pegs, her from The Manhattan Project, Cadet Thompson and the voice of Miss Spider onto the big screen may have resulted in HBO scoring a bigger hit than they did with John From Cincinnati, but not only did Sex and the City make none of its millions from me, neither of the two soundtrack CDs made no room for any of Aaron Zigman's score. From the Better Late Than Never file, Decca/New Line's third disc culled from the movie gives the prolific Mr. Z a proper score release (did he get any space on the albums for either Step Up movies or Good Luck Chuck? Did he hell). It sounds very pleasant and romantic from the soundclips, which is just what's required... especially after listening to Requiem For A Dream. Brrrrrr. Pre-order here if you feel so inclined.

This blog is not affiliated in any way with Cindy Crawford. Even if she is its de facto inspiration. It's also not affiliated in any way with Hayden Panettiere, who's earned joint top billing on this blog because she makes me happy. And that ain't easy.

Screwing the score again.
Dear Lakeshore Records,
You couldn't have included one Aaron Zigman track on the Good Luck Chuck soundtrack? Even a short suite would have done; then I could have gotten the album and had an excuse to have a CD with Jessica Alba on the cover (especially since I can't seem to get the cover art on the blog).
That you guys are usually so good with these things - if not separate CDs, at least giving the composer some space - makes it worse. It's not like she's on the cover of Commotion's album for The Ten...
Yours,
Victor

Bridge to Terabithia
Haven't heard of the book, but may check the movie out when it launches in the UK on May 4th; it certainly does sound above average, though the Fantasy Movie advertising doesn't seem like it'll help. The soundtrack is on Hollywood Records, and the House of Mouse actually seems to be releasing it on CD this time (as opposed to iTunes exclusives - Eight Below, The Guardian, The Santa Clause: The Escape Clause, Deja Vu). The sound clips of Aaron Zigman (The Notebook, John Q, Akeelah And The Bee)'s score are by no means bad, but I'm kind of wishing they could have dumped some of the songs and put in more of his work, especially since this is a "Music from and Inspired by" album - Hannah Montana and the cute-sexy indestructible cheerleader can stay, ditto Bethany Dillon, but I hatehateHATE Leigh Nash (Sixpence None The Richer are unforgivable). And I have a horrible feeling Miss Robb will be over the end credits instead of Miley 'n' Hayden on account of a) her being in the movie and b) the music video attached... proper score CD post anon.
