The Music From The Films Of Jessica Alba Post.

This series of posts has a problem, in that I'm restricted to only including music that's been commercially released... which is really annoying in the case of the wondrous Jessica Alba. It means that the terrific themes from the '90s Flipper (there were two) are off-limits, as are David Newman's score for Never Been Kissed, Joel McNeely's work on Dark Angel (although the opening ditty gets a look-in, even if the only episode of either season to give it a respectable airing is "Love Among The Runes") and - less regrettably, it has to be said - anything from Robert Rodriguez's Machete. But do not think the Alba's most frequent collaborator will go unrepresented...

1. Idle Hands Theme - Graeme Revell (3:05)
2. Dark Angel Theme - Public Enemy and MC Lyte (3:07)
3. Sin City End Titles - Robert Rodriguez (3:16)
4. Fantastic Proposal (from Fantastic Four) - John Ottman (2:17)*
5. Four In One (from Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer) - John Ottman (3:04)
6. Rain (from The Eye) - Marco Beltrami (2:42)
7. Guru Vindaloo (from The Love Guru) - George S. Clinton (2:55)
8. Valentine's Day (from Valentine's Day) - John Debney (2:32)
9. Enemas, MIG Fighter and Andi Garcia (from Little Fockers) - Stephen Trask (1:07)
10. Spy Mom (from Spy Kids: All The Time In The World) - Carl Thiel and Robert Rodriguez (2:29)

To make up for the latter two, here are two videos.

Hopefully the next one in the series won't have these problems...

*Technically this comes from both films, as it was tracked into the sequel as well.

The Hayden Panettiere Is One Of My Berserk Buttons Post.

Five years ago was the last time I went to London Film And Comic Con, when it went something like this. As proof that history doesn't always repeat itself and that you can learn from your mistakes, this time around I left very, very early on Saturday morning. How early? I arrived at 6 AM.

Three hours later, they let me and the other prepaid ticket holders in and I headed straight for the back of the Olympia Grand Hall to get a hold of a queue number - last time it was in the 500s, this time it was 37. Cue the first of a series of waiting games as in spite of the hefty amount of guests there, including assorted Game Of Thrones persons, Anthony Head, wrestlers like Mickie James, Adam Baldwin, Jewel Staite, Kevin Sorbo, Holly Marie Combs - the only person other than guess who that I could have been tempted to join a queue for - Gillian "No mortals allowed to see her signing" Anderson, Jeri "See previous in-between-names bit" Ryan and, of course, Jonesy from the Police Academy movies, there was only one person I was there for. The same person for whom I went last time; Hayden Panettiere.

Well, duh.

My poor screwed-up brain being what it is, I didn't ask Hayden to further personalise the above during our very brief but friendly chat - and I have to admit if I'd known she wasn't crazy about the picture chosen I wouldn't have brought it along. (Also, please excuse the rubbish scanning - if I ever re-edit this post I'll do it again.) But she was cheerful about it, and I certainly got more time with her than the insanity in 2007. And this time I got to shake her hand (physical contact; always a plus). Her beautiful, tiny, doll-like hand... which I understand had some plasters on it later in the day because she had to sign so much! (It was quieter on Sunday, when I wasn't there alas, but that's to be expected.) Add to this her reportedly having a bad back that day and it's amazing there weren't umpteen reports of her throwing hissy-fits disproportionate to her size. Especially since the place was crowded on Saturday and not exactly low-temperature..

.
So cue further waits (and stopping off at the stand for the guy from The Cinema Store to buy The Avengers - much Alan Silvestri goodness therein) until the photoshoot. On the one hand, we were pretty much rushed in and out with not much interaction (although I did notice Hayden's face starting a bit when she saw me - maybe she recognised me from earlier, for good or ill!). On the other hand, I can understand why it was like that with a ton of people with tickets and only just over an hour (as a post on the Showmasters forum pointed out, you'd think they'd have split Miss Panettiere's photo session like they did wth Gillian, Jeri and Holly Marie Combs). Hayden was sitting down here unlike last time, but how'd you like to stand up for 60-plus minutes in that state? Also, even with her cute little behind being on a high chair yours truly had to crouch down to fit into the above, what with my being a biggish fellow and Hayden being approximately the size of Smurfette. (Not the greatest picture - or scan, I have to admit. Especially that thing next to the fragrant Hayden.)

Biggest complaint about the day had to be the prices for food, so we won't bring them up.

More waiting, and taking in the sights (some very attractive cosplayers there), before the paid talk in area B (moved from C for some reason - maybe it should have stayed there and been closed off from people getting a free preview, hmm Showmasters?). It would have been nice if it had been filmed like at other cons not least in the US, and if there had been better organisation - there weren't enough seats for everyone and sound problems, and on top of that the person who had to organise the actual session was... Hayden herself, due to mikes not being long enough. So those of us with questions basically had to go into the aisle, which I'm told hurt the views of some in the audience - I can only apologise, being one of those who went up! But no complaints about the lady herself, who was as charming and likeable as ever with the queries (about Nashville, Kingdom Hearts, whales, Heroes - of course - and, this being Hayden Panettiere, the odd bit of chatting-up; this last from a guy who wanted a shout-out to his brother. "I'm single," he told her. "I'm not," she pointed out).

And me? Well, I began by telling her that she has a very sexy voice ("Ooh, thank you!") before admitting to being a bit nervous, whereupon she told me I shouldn't be what with our size differences. So then I asked her if there was anything she'd done career-wise that she was ashamed of, and she replied that she'd been acting for so long that there were obviously things which hadn't turned out as expected but nothing she really regretted; I then asked her if there were any British TV shows she didn't like. Yes, DIDN'T like (I think it's only fair that Americans get to complain about British shows, as the reverse has been true for ages). Hayden didn't name or shame anything, as she 'fessed up to not being that au courant with them - but we both agreed that with a lot of Americans loving British shows and vice versa, it's a case of the grass being greener.

Anyway, it was a lovely Saturday, and if I could have gone on Sunday for more Hayden exposure I would've... maybe the next time she's here (which hopefully will be before 2017!). And I have to admit I loved how she had her back to the audience when she came on stage; let's just say Mitch Pileggi was not the only person checking out her behind.

Don't diss Hayden around me, thanks. And thank you for everything, Hayden.

P.S. Apparently she was flirting with Bernard Cribbins on Sunday. Bernard Cribbins. I know she likes older men, but...

The Kate Cottontail Post.

As the Easter Bunny is a symbol of fertility, having Kate Upton play Peter Cottontail makes perfect sense. Also, she's way more attractive than Jessica Rabbit and the Caramel bunny.

Plus, y'know, no risk of bestiality.

The Kate Upton Is The Motto, Darn It Post.

If only I didn't have a problem with going over four selections for that video link down there, then Kate Upton would definitely be part of the regular rotation with Cindy Crawford, Hayden Panettiere and Blake Lively. Sadly, if I did it would mean there'd be five selections (four regulars and a guest). So Katherine Elizabeth Upton, who's so perfect she even has the right version of her first name - for some reason Kate seems right, unlike Cate; blame it on my not being a cat (or dog, or animals in general) person - will not be there every week.

Every other week, maybe?

The Three Things I Want Hayden Panettiere To Do Post.

1. Get on Twitter, in common with other favourites of mine Hilary Duff, Jessica Alba and Cindy Crawford (although I'm not on it myself); with so many fake Haydens it's time the real thing was there.

2. Return to series television, which has so far been more fruitful for her than the big screen (although I'd be thrilled if she did do well in cinema). Working for HBO or some other cable channel would be nice as well.

3. The third thing is venturing into seriously personal territory, but you can probably guess...

The Another One... Doesn't Bite The Dust, Really Post.

Rosanna Arquette, Cindy Crawford, Laetitia Casta, Britney Spears, Jessica Alba, Monica Bellucci... and now Mariah Carey's finally become pregnant, another one joins the yummy mummy (or to use Cindy's preferred term MILF) club. You know you're getting older when all your favourite women become mothers (although some of them do so earlier than others, Britney and Laetitia in particular - Miss Casta is 32 and already has three kids!).

Of course, some fans have yet to experience this (Helen Mirren has no children, which may explain a lot) while others are completely used to it. Although that doesn't mean I won't be surprised when/if Hilary Duff or Hayden Panettiere announces an upcoming blessed event.

Congratulations to Mariah! (I refuse to congratulate Nick Cannon, because a) he's not the one who'll have to go through excruciating pain several months from now and b) frankly, I'm jealous.)

The I Refuse To Have Hayden's Fella In This Post Post.

Apparently Hayden's taken after fellow natural-blondes-turned-redheads Christina Hendricks and Amy Adams because she wants to be not seen as cute so much (unfortunately, like Amy that may be impossible...) and do something about the cheerleader image (which is understandable - had Fireflies In The Garden, a rare opportunity these days for her to do something not cheerleader-related, been well-received it may well have helped her in that regard). I have to say that it does suit her - almost as much as being blonde does. Add to this her passing the short hair test and she's likely to be with us for the long haul.

We will not discuss whether or not she's gotten work done in the chest area. And we will definitely not discuss her new, unfairly lucky guy. (This was taken when she was in Sweden a few days ago; she moved on to Germany... please come to England again, Hayden!)

The I'm Back Post.

Upside: Cindy in St. Tropez again! More Vanessa Hudgens nudity! JoAnna Garcia in Privileged every Sunday evening!

Downside: Spending a week off work because of illness. And John Hughes.

The I Kissed A Girl, Another Girl And A Mouse And I Liked It Post.

Recently seen performing with Rihanna and Kelly Clarkson for CHUM-FM's Breakfast In Barbados, Katy Perry (whose real last name, I only just found out, is Hudson - changed to avoid confusion I guess, so there won't be any "Is it the singer-songwriter Kate Walsh or the deep-voiced Private Practice star Kate Walsh?"-type mishaps) went off to Disneyland for another concert. The reason my girl Hayden is there is that she was hosting the thing. Hopefully it helped take her mind off being robbed recently...

And now a word from our sponsors.

The My Huckleberry Goddess Post.

Many, many, many thanks to argus1948 for this video of Cindy Crawford early on. Before Presley and Kaia. Before Rande Gerber. Before Val Kilmer. Before Fair Game. Before Richard Gere. Before House of Style. Before Playboy. Even before The Secret Of My Success.

As to the title of this post, listen to the music playing.

The I Guess I'll Be Seeing At Least One American Pie Movie Post.

In the ten years (!) since American Pie burst onto the world's screens, we've had two big-screen sequels and three DVD followups, exactly none of which I've ever seen. Universal put a stop to that by signing Rosanna Arquette to essentially play Eugene Levy to Bug Hall's Jason Biggs in American Pie: Book Of Love. To at least one blogger's dismay.

And with good reason. Work is work, misunderstand me not, and sightings of Rosanna are never bad - not even in Crash - but do we need yet another reminder of how things have changed for her since the 1980s (and not only because she's a mother of a teenage girl now)? It's bad enough that most of her recent projects have been unpromising-sounding movies made for Lifetime or DVD (Northern Lights, anyone?) - but this? Of course, it could turn out to be a diamond in the rough, but it'll more likely be filed alongside Rush Of Fear and Poison. Maybe more TV is the answer (The L Word, Medium, even Grey's Anatomy... hell, even What About Brian).

That said, the ultimate Rosanna Arquette bummer movies are ones where she's killed off; at least that won't happen here.
And there'll finally be a proper MILF in these (no offence to Jennifer Coolidge).

The ...And Then Two Come Along At Once Post.

Gisele Bundchen is in the new issue of Harper's Bazaar. But more importantly, so is Cindy - taken by Peter Lindbergh in this spread. That is a must buy when I find it. And so is the newest Allure.

Many, many thanks to Fred Smithson's Celeb Girlz For Charity blog for the heads-up. Especially for this.

The Technical Term: "RESULT!" Post.

I know today isn't technically speaking their day, but come on. If their fellow supporter (aka the woman pictured over yonder) of the biggest O since Roy Orbison had been there as well, it would have been the Best Picture Ever.

"GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY!" - Butch.

(EDIT: "Actually, it's get the FUCK out of the way." - Butch.)

I stand corrected.

The Two Friends Discussing Hayden Panettiere And Vanessa Hudgens Post.

Cindylover1969: At last I can Google Hayden Panettiere again! I was holding off until I saw the end of volume 3... :)
Wrestlingmonkeyz: oh?
Me: Searching for her tends to bring up Heroes spoilers.
Him: aah. how do you know Chapter 4 spoilers wont come up
Me: Shit. Good point... (turns off bold). I didn't think of that. That's a bridge I'll cross when I come to it. Besides, it's not until February.
Him: my roommate met Hayden a couple weeks ago
Me: WHAT?!? Go on!
Him: she was doing a Kohl's event and he was her bodyguard
Me: Oh yeah, I saw the pictures... how was she?
Him: from what he says she was every bit as nice of a girl as we believe she is
Me: That goes with most accounts, thankfully. :) : I don't even mind her tattoo or the fact that she smokes (allegedly).
Him: well the tattoo is no prob, but I havent seen her smoking so I cant verify. unlike Vanessa Hudgens
Me: That's not a dealbreaker in her case either.
Him: its close though
Me: It's not like they're Republicans. Or Catden.
Him: lol. I'd still fuck Vanessa hard, but the smokes will have to go
Me: Smart man... I'd happily let Hayden spank me, by the way. As long as I can return the favour.
Him: yeah
Wrestlingmonkeyz signed off at 03:59

I signed off not long after posting this. (Catden is a poster on CSSA with whom I have various differences of opinion, and that's all you need to know.)

The Just When I Needed Something To Cheer Me Up... Post.

I woke up late (for me, 3 am is late). I had a further argument with Zeusaphone at CSSA over the merits of Beyonce vs. Britney. (See if you can guess whose side I'm on.) I had to battle a slow computer. And then... the first 2009 issue of Maxim. The link does not take you to the magazine's site, only to a blog with low HQ scans of the cover and the cover subject. But it's the least I can do because being alerted to Blake Lively, Katy Perry, Scarlett Johansson, the lovely Hayden and covergirl Hilary Duff in the same place is never a bad thing. Blogger, thank you. Zeusaphone.... well, never mind.

The Happiest Place On Earth Post.

Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale and the two blokes were in London's West End last night for the premiere of High School Musical 3. Other than the Disney link and the drop-dead-gorgeous aspect, that has no connection to what this post is about.

Here's Cindy attending Miley Cyrus's 16th birthday party at Disneyland over the weekend, with Kaia (who is almost certainly a Disney fan - they were at the High School Musical 2 premiere as well) and Presley. Why is he looking at Minnie Mouse that way? Mini-perv. Anyway, the event was a treat for lady-watchers (Jennifer Love Hewitt and Tyra Banks were also among the guests), and the babe-on-the-cusp that is Miley also performed, but it's all about Cindy in these parts.

For the record, Miley's actual Sweet 16 takes place on November 23rd. I thought only the Queen of England had two birthdays.

The Best Bit Of The Emmys Post.

With all due respect to Heidi Klum having her clothes ripped off, a blind man could've seen that bit coming. (As opposed to Bryan Cranston's Emmy win. And this.)
