Football is NOT beautiful and it is NOT much of a game.

If Tony Blair passes legislation permitting those of us tired of 11-man worship to instantly kill anyone anywhere at any time who uses that phrase to describe the world's most overpraised pastime (sheesh, at least DIY benefits somebody!), I will vote Labour for the first time in my life.

Even back in my pre-grownup days I was never that fussed about sports (I did get dragged into "supporting" the Lakers, but now...), and today it just seems like a massive space-waster.

Good Movies About Sports:

The Last Boy Scout - In which a footballer guns down a few other players and kills himself. I approve.

Bring It On - Kirsten Dunst, Eliza Dushku and Gabrielle Union as cheerleaders. Enough said.

And that's it.

Summer Catch is on Sky Movies now. Baseball? No. Jessica Biel and Brittany Murphy? Yes, definitely yes. Such things as Miss Biel's entrance represent one of the two main positive things about sport-related stuff - John Williams's Olympic music represents the other of the two main positive things.

End of rambling, unconnected anti-sport propaganda.

Rollerball; that is one exciting sport - even more exciting than snooker.
