The A Picture's Worth A Thousand Bloggings Post.

The above shot from Cindy's Allure spread is undoubtedly the Battle of Helms' Deep of said spread, based on reaction on the 'Net. I can't imagine why.

About the only really negative aspect of it is the "MILFs > 20-year-olds!" crowd, which is a bit unfair. Don't get me wrong, Cindy's claim that she looks "pretty good for 43" is an understatement (and combined with early reviews of MTV's new House of Style unfavourably comparing new host Bar Refaeli with her, this must be a great week for Cindy's sense of self)... but while Cindy is definitely more attractive than loads of women younger than her, she's also more attractive than loads of women her own age and older. Cindy Crawford's always been a load more fetching than the norm, so in a sense this is business as usual. Making it probably the only time that one of my fantasy women being pictured naked and creamed up (not the first dream-come-true musing this has brought up) can be described as "business as usual."

The point is, as fine as 40-plus women like Cindy, Halle Berry and Jennifer Aniston are this doesn't mean ladies an even longer way from Freedom Passes should be knocked. Besides, back when Cindy was in her 20s you can be assured she was on the receiving end of the same "older is better" treatment... my view is, everybody was younger once. (Plus there's always a time limit, but that bridge can be crossed when we come to it.) That said, would Scarlett Johansson have gotten such a reaction in a similar situation?

Quite possibly.

But would Agyness Deyn?

The One Of The Holy Grails Post.

Unlike most film music fans, I've always held John Williams's music for the Indiana Jones movies in a higher regard than that of the Star Wars sagas (whether because Prof. Jones has a better theme tune than they of a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away or because, unlike George's brainchild, I've actually seen all four movies in cinemas is a good question - but it's probably a bit of both).

So while I've got the albums of the original three Star Wars flicks and the expanded releases of all three, plus the albums of the newer less beloved trilogy, in my heart of hearts what I really wanted was what was announced recently by Concord (the label that released Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull), adding to my list of soundtrack wishes come true - first the long-overdue Buffy the Vampire Slayer score CD and now this:

INDIANA JONES: THE COMPLETE SOUNDTRACKS COLLECTION

For the first time ever all four Indiana Jones soundtrack albums are available in this limited edition collectible CD boxed set! Included are expanded and remastered versions of Raiders of the Lost Ark, and exclusive to this set: Indiana Jones & The Temple Doom, and Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade. This set also includes the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull soundtrack plus a bonus interview CD with composer John Williams on the making of this historic music. Housed in a handsome embossed slip case and presented with a full color booklet, this set reintroduces the iconic original Indiana Jones film scores by Oscar-winning composer John Williams - out of print since 1995! A must for fans and collectors alike, all will rejoice in having all these soundtracks presented together expanded with previously unreleased music - along with this summer's blockbuster Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull available together for the very first time. Relive the musical adventure today!

Just to sweeten the deal:

JWFan has received CONFIRMATION from Concord Records that the Indiana Jones: The Complete Soundtrack Collection boxed set will indeed include EXPANDED VERSIONS of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade:

All three original soundtracks (Raiders, Temple of Doom, and Last Crusade) will be expanded and remastered, including material never before issued on CD. Track listings are not available yet. The box set will also include the standard Kingdom of the Crystal Skull soundtrack (released earlier this year, no bonus material added) plus an exclusive audio interview CD with John Williams. The reissues of the three original soundtracks will only be available in the box set and will not be sold individually until later this year or early next.

The impact of this... hang on, let me turn the italics off... The impact of this cannot be understated, since Paramount (although the movies are made by Lucasfilm, Paramount handles the distribution etc) isn't one to exploit its music library unless it involves Star Trek, and nowadays not even then. Since the album for Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom really needs bulking up - it's the shortest of the lot by miles - the thought of hopefully, finally having the film version of its end titles in glorious, non-taped-from-the-video sound is bliss. Of course, that means I'll have two CDs of the newest one, but them's the breaks.

And now to accompany this link to Egotastic!'s shots of Hayden Panettiere at the Heroes season 3 premiere, the lovely Hayden at Fashion Rocks.

The girl can bring it. Another dream right there.

The Is That Your Ad? I Don't Know Post.

At least Lily Allen hasn't got a perfume yet.

Musically nice, visually... well, Mariah Carey baring flesh has never been a problem for me personally. I'm sure Amelie Gillette at The Onion will slate it, but screw her.

And it demonstrates that Britney can in fact bounce back (remember when everyone was writing off Mariah after the breakdown and Glitter and so on?). Too bad Mariah still has yet to have a chart-topper in the UK that isn't a cover version...

The Cindy Post.

Okay, this isn't specifically about her. But with a whole load of work plus Hayden-aimed flak about that dress plus dribbling Usenet morons in general plus no money until Friday plus... you just want to tune out, look at Cindy in red (even if it is at the behest of Stella McCartney) and turn on. Well, I do anyway.

The Alpha for the Omega.

Cindy's latest bit of business for Omega saw her going to Australia, and while you could fill a book with the list of commercial endorsements she's done that still isn't a problem with me. At all.

But anyone who compares this angel to Janice Dickinson should be forbidden to breed at the very least.

It's really tempting to use this to go into a post about how she > Kate Moss as much now as she did in the 1990s, but I won't. For more reactions and pictures, try this link. And that reminds me - I have to check out the new Ocean Drive as well, and try and decide whether or not I'd be delighted or disappointed should Cindy ever decide to change her mind and pose for Playboy again next year (she said it would be good for her 41-year-old ego, but on the other hand she's got other priorities now - and I genuinely respect that). More on this next post.

Jessica Alba smiled at me!

First off, the world premiere of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer in London last night suffered from several prannies on podiums in very tight silver bodysuits doing all manner of gymnastics for us outside the Vue West End. I don't know why. Not to mention a lack of people going in who I might have heard of, although the autograph hound in the crowd next to me did get the signature of a redheaded American woman going in who he later told me was Kate Walsh from Grey's Anatomy (and its spinoff Private Practice). If I watched the show I'd have been more impressed.

But it was nice to see Radio 1's Edith Bowman as one of the folks from the world media reporting on the blue carpet (not red); sadly she never came down our way so I could compliment her on how the wind blew her dress into her bottom (or at least say hi). Also, I got here a lot earlier than last time so I got a good view, and also brought The Complete Mission: Impossible Dossier with me to pass most of the six hours until showtime. And it didn't rain at all this time... if I'd brought a chair, a camera, and ESP so I wouldn't have to be in front of a tosser who kept wanting to see Michael Chiklis (apparently he's a mate of his), it would have been perfect.

Anyway, cue the folks yelling for "IOAN!!!" (one woman behind me kept demanding a kiss - I doubt she got it), "CHRIS!!!" (in sunshades, like a good showoff) "TIM STORY!!!" "MICHAEL!!!!" and of course "JESSICAAAA!!!"

Ignore the dried-up jealous haters and whipped/tasteless men on certain blogs - the Alba is better-looking in real life than in pictures; I just want to lick her from head to toe, I do. And I also want to thank the fellow on the carpet who, following the first round of signings before Jessica went to talk to the folks from GMTV, TVE, Entertainment Tonight etc., noticed my urgent calls for her to come over to my part of the crowd and escorted her over to us as soon as she was finished (he's the man next to her in the picture underneath)! Top man, sir.

Jessica's signature is now on my copy of the Fantastic Four score CD booklet (thanks to the organizers for playing some of John Ottman's sequel score over the speakers - much more welcome than the gymnasts), and by now you're asking if I managed to touch her like last time. Well, I did try... and missed her, in the words of Maxwell Smart, by that much.

But I did manage to say something to her this time around (a simple thank you), and I didn't pick up what she said... but she noticed my gesture. And for a few brief seconds, we were looking at each other. (Yes, it is sad. I don't care.) And she smiled at me!

The bloke with her definitely seemed to understand where I was coming from, which helped. But the thing is, Jessica Alba smiled at me! And having that dusky-coloured vision with almond eyes smiling at you is the stuff fantasies are made of, believe you me.

Once I've gotten my own cameraphone or digital camera or what have you, I'll be one step closer to being immortalized alongside one of the highest-ranking members of my staff. But until then, and with many, many, many thanks to Michael - otherwise known as TheArchivist - for making this possible, I leave you with this...

Butch, I own you.

And now, a completely gratuitous shot of Katharine McPhee.

...weep as did Alexander when he beheld the glories of Egypt. - Gene Roddenberry in a letter to Star Trek associate producer Robert H. Justman.
DAYUM. That is one great ass. - TheArchivist in a message to me.

...and Cindy at the "Ocean's 13" premiere.

Not like this, unfortunately.

With Sharon's money worries permeating myself as well, and with my complete failure to care about Jericho getting a mini-reprieve and Prison Break being poached by Sky (and by "poached" I mean "being willing to pay a higher price than Five was" - it's called business, people. Deal with it), I need something to cheer me up.

Mission accomplished. And not in the George W. Bush sense, the actual sense. Having detested the first movie and taken my leave of Sharon when she put on the secon, wild horses could not get me to see the third one. But Cindy could if she was in it.

The end.

This one's for you, Butch.

Jen: Is that Hayden Panettiere about 4.3 seconds before she started making out with her mom?
Me: That's not her mum, that's Ali Larter.
Jen: Oooh, nice

Brandon: Ali looks like she is about to propose to Hayden or something
Me: Wonder if she said yes? ;-)
Brandon: lol. that must be why it looks like Ali is crying, she said yes
