I have to complain about a) seeing the trailer for the Sex and the City movie in front of The Spiderwick Chronicles and b) seeing the trailer for the Sex and the City movie. Come on, have a heart.

ITV1 also deserves a jolly-good talking to for Pushing Daisies. Not the show itself, the pilot of which was on last night - love it, love it, love it - and was a real whetter for the rest of the series (although why give Anna Friel all the props when there's the rest of the cast, not to mention the great Bryan Fuller?)... but for their only showing eight episodes of the nine in the first season. For goodness' sake, haven't they heard of double-bills? It's Nickelodeon with Gilmore girls all over again. Gah.

Here's something to cheer me up. (Have fun where you are, Butch. And who's this Olivia Munn person? Looks fun.)

The 600th Post.

I decided to make a resolution this year... to buy all the specified albums on my Soundtracks To Get list down there. Mainly because I suck at exercising so resolving to go to the gym is out.

Being on Steve Sullivan's Glamour Girls group on Yahoo! is fun, not so much because of occasionally hearing from some of the ladies whose praises are sung but more because of getting introduced to Mystique women; first Jade Regier/Bianca (what is it with me and that name?) and now Jannah Burnham. Add to this Erica Campbell having modelled for them and I may have to link to that site.

Magazines to get: not Arena (though I do agree with Bar Rafaeli's claim that she's not a supermodel) or Esquire or UK GQ. More like Elle (the Alba!), Lucky (Hayden!) and Italian GQ (the Queen).

Finally... dear ITV1, are you really going to be showing Pushing Daisies at 11.30pm? Really?

Saturday - hot, not hungry, and the dog won't shut up.

The first purchases of new US shows for the UK were announced last week, and they've been bagged by ITV. This is a conditional Feltz thanks to ITV's long history of fucking up US shows... anyway, they've got Pushing Daisies (one of the few I can really get worked up about; I just hope it's more successful than Anna Friel's last US show The Jury), Swingtown and Cane, and aim to have all three on their digital channels (Pushing Daisies on ITV2 and the other two on ITV3) with the first two getting airings on ITV1 as well. The thing is, they said that last year about Six Degrees, and we all know how that turned out. Plus... well...

Supernatural - 9 or 10 on ITV2, around 11 if it's on ITV1.
Numb3rs - ditto on ITV3, ditto on ITV1.
The Inside - late on ITV4, never on ITV1. (Admittedly it didn't really deserve any better.)
Friday Night Lights - 8pm on ITV4, never on ITV1.
Surface - early evenings on ITV2, Saturday afternoons on ITV1 (and terrestrial didn't even complete it).
Entourage - late on all its ITV channels.

And so on. And they got Law & Order: Trial By Jury (the only Law & Order series to be a flop). Way to go, ITV. Still, they have to come up trumps sometime.

What do two members of my staff (including Queen Cindy) and Ali Larter have to do with it? Well... um... nothing. (Although ITV back when they were still genuinely regionalised did show Cindy's Fox special about stuntwomen, which I still have on tape off Carlton's airing; and I think they screened Varsity Blues... and Hayden was definitely on This Morning when she came here to promote Racing Stripes. See, I can link anything!)

With June comes Big Brother's return, so that's one more thing for me to avoid on TV. Speaking of which, as I always do and likely always will do (one of the good things about Bridge to Terabithia is that the non-TV-having Leslie wasn't portrayed as being unspeakably smug, although I do long for something that points out it is possible to be led astray by books), why is it that movies and TV shows are prone to being pulled due to links with real life incidents? They get rescheduled, but does that mean the people most likely to be affected deeply won't be upset by that time? I doubt it. There ain't no time limit for grief, people.

Short post, but I want to take a page from Mike's book (er, blog) and post something every day this month.

NBC and the Queen

Since coming back from its ill-advised break Stateside, Heroes (along with 24, admittedly) has lost audience ground to Dancing With People Who All Ought To Be Locked Up For Life Except For Paulina Porizkova Of Course. As NBC going all Carousel on everyone in the American TV audience over the age of 60 is out of the question (though on the bright side if they did this they might take out Bush et al as well), the obvious solution is to show it all uninterrupted next year a la 24 (plus if Sci-Fi plays its cards right and Sky hasn't outbid them come renewal time if the price goes up - the way they did with Lost and 24 - there won't be such a huge gap in episodes... NBC showed the 21st chapter on Monday, Sci-Fi's Monday new episode was the 13th). You didn't mess it up before, don't do it now...

I like Sunday Sundays

What Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip is to Defamer, Gilmore girls is likely to be to The Jay - so the CW's announcement that Lorelai the Elder and Lorelai the Younger are leaving the lineup this year will no doubt lead to a celebratory post from him any day now, as well as making the chances of Veronica Mars getting a fourth season slightly better (this is their third hour-long show to be axed after 7th Heaven and Runaway - what are they going to do, show more reruns of America's Next Top Pandering To Tyra's Ego?). Shame on those of us who like both shows, though - but at least Veronica's back on UK screens. Even if it is on Trouble. (Thanks for letting it go, Living - no room for Miss Mars on the lineup but endless hours of Most Haunted, Tyra and the girls, and a reality show with Abigail Clancy and Janice Dickinson? Cheers.)

Meanwhile, Sharon's under more and more financial pressure, and the guilt's weighing on me because I need to move onto something that pays more, so I can help her more... but can I do it? Apparently not.

I need something to perk me up, please. Ah, here we are - two of my Hall of Famers: Rosanna Arquette tying in with What About Brian. And the queen.

Holiday Update

Cindy: Getting plenty of sleep in time to see this year's Oscars.

Feltz: The show itself - not the most thrilling, and also somewhat low in babe-age (admittedly after last year - Alba! Hayek! Johansson! Etc! - there was a lot to live up to). Apart from Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gwyneth Paltrow...

Cindy: ...and Jennifer Hudson.

Feltz: Trying to see how much passage from Waterloo to Ubeda via Malaga , plus hotel, would cost. I'm not going yet, not until July, but they won't process it yet. Gah. And I want to know how much it costs now! Now, dammit, now!

Cindy: Chapter Seventeen of Heroes (not showing up on Sci-Fi for about 14 weeks). Seriously, how frikking awesome was that? Development, tension, heartbreak, loads of Hayden (delivering both heartthrob- and acting-wise; ditto Jack Coleman and Greg Grunberg in the acting division), kickass effects, tearjerking ending ("I love you, Claire-bear..."), and Eric Roberts not sucking. Stunning. Jen, I command you to start watching this.

Feltz: TheArchivist still not being able to see the series thanks to the show Mad magazine parodied as Louse, S.O.B. being on directly opposite it in Australia. I know it's not bombing there, but pull your fingers out, Seven. (Bonus Feltz: The dicks in the UK dismissing it after three episodes. Patience will be rewarded - this isn't Invasion, you know.)

Cindy: Well, er... hang on...

Feltz: Being late for my blood extraction on Monday (I thought it was at 10:30, it was at 9 am), having to reschedule it for Tuesday, being late (only 10 minutes, but still late) thanks to a bus delay, and then having to tell the diabetic nurse that I've been behind in my pills lately. And her not taking it well.
