This announcement on Erica Campbell's site (not the official one, which she decided to move on from long before the following - this one) has pissed off at least one person that I know of, ostensibly on religious grounds but I suspect more on I'm-not-going-to-see-any-more-naked-pictures-of-Erica grounds. Whatever you might think, you have to give her credit for convictions; I was, and am, far more annoyed by Ring Dings And Pepsi slagging off Heroes S2 and Gossip Girl. Part of me wishes I could be strong enough to make a decision like this.
I love you guys!
The Only Way Out
This message is to ALL of my friends and fans. I wasn't sure how exactly to start this...but I trusted that God would help me write this and maybe through me I could speak His word and make His will be done.....
For a long time I have been very lost. So lost in myself and in the world that I didn't even REALIZE that I was lost. I have always thought of myself as a pretty good person. I love helping people, I love befriending people, I love animal rescue and rehab. I care a GREAT deal for my friends and family and ALWAYS do whatever I can to care for them and make sure that they are ok. For a long time I THOUGHT that I was doing the right thing.....and doing my personal best......well...I was wrong...dead wrong.
Being in the world of adult modeling I see A LOT of pain....A LOT of heart break. SO many lost girls get into this business just for some extra money....to help pay for school....to help support themselves or even their children as single moms. "It's just temporary". They are only going to do this for a while...just a few shoots.
I too started out to make some extra money to help me finish school. Almost ALL of the time It doesn't end where you think it will.....the path goes on......the hole gets deeper....and the road gets darker. MOST of the time the girls don't even realize it. One day you see this bright beautiful girl shooting tame nudes...the next they are signing on the dotted line of a hard-core porn company. Lost. Broken. Alone.
I being on the other side of these pictures you don't see the pain these girls are in. The struggle....the drugs that they take so they can get themselves through these sets. Sometimes it's just a show....you pretend to be someone else..become someone you never thought you could be...and the hole gets deeper.
I never thought of myself as one of these girls. What I have been doing "wasn't porn". I connect to well and so close with so many of my fans. I didn't realize what I was doing or why.
The past few years have been very difficult for me. That is no secret to anyone that knows anything about me. I have been working my tail off to support myself, my farm, my rescues, my family, and the list goes on. No matter how hard I worked.....no matter how many people or creatures I helped I STILL had that void inside of my heart and my soul. Connecting with person after person through my site as REAL FRIENDS. I understood the loneliness of the people that I would talk to...because I myself was so lonely. The more I shot...the deeper my darkness got.....the more I understood the pain of others. My friends and my fan. There is ONE common thread to so many of us online here.....the need to be loved, accepted, cared for, the need to have SOMEONE understand you and connect with you. At the end of so many of these emails was that loneliness. SO many men have asked me what they were doing wrong, how to find a special girl like me for THEM. How to fill that "void" in their hearts...in their souls. For a long time I thought I was helping to fill that void in the lives of so many, and in a way I was. But it was all a lie. I could never fill that void for anyone...only be a sinful band aid for it. Only cause the loneliness to deepen....only cause my own soul to ache more.
I have been looking so long and so hard for someone to love me. Love ME for ME. Fill that hole in my soul. Complete me. All this time the only thing standing in my way was me. I have been blind and wrong. On so many levels for so long.
I have decided to leave the world of adult and porn behind me....and follow the lord. I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and am devoting my life to HIS WILL. I have found the one thing that can, will and DOES fill that void...and that's GOD.
I have been trapped in sin and destruction for so long. Disappointment after disappointment......painful venture after painful venture. I have been my own worst enemy. Holding the key all along that could set me free from the darkness that had slowly enveloped me....that was eating away piece by piece my soul. Burning the light out of my eyes so slowly that I didn't even see it....didn't know it.....
It is will a new clarity and a new purpose that I will continue my life. I WANT TO HELP THESE GIRLS! These lost souls.....these girls that are ABUSING THEMSELVES. Selling themselves for NOTHING. I want to help them STOP THIS PAIN. I want to show them the light.....and the love of Jesus. ONLY HE CAN FILL THIS VOID IN THEIR LIFE! HE IS THE WAY....THE ONLY WAY.
I also want to help my fans...my friends......This void in your life and heart. You seek pornography to fill it....it's only a bandage. Sin isn't ugly....it's beautiful. It can't fill the voids in your life. ONLY GOD CAN FILL THEM!
I love my fans, and I love YOU. I want YOU to feel this peace. I want YOU to get out of the darkness that is all around you. You can not live with one foot in Christ and one in the world. Our time here is so short....today could be your last day here. And what will you have lived for? Died for? There is only one way to heaven and eternal life....and that is through Jesus.
I will not and can not desert my friends and fans. The models.....the world. I can't and I won't. I am hoping that the Lord will work through me and guide me to do HIS will and help those that I can. Those that will stop and listen....those that will allow the Holy Spirit to fill them and speak to them as it has me.
I know that there are going to be a lot of people that will think this is a big joke....laugh.....wonder if I have lost my mind....well....I have news for you.... FOOLS MOCK THE TRUTH. There is ONE WAY. And only one way. I have found that way. I have FILLED THE HOLE IN MY SOUL! Filled that void that I couldn't fill with anything else. My life isn't about ME anymore.....My life is about God and HIS will. I want to spread HIS love. Tell people about Him......lead people home to Him. I don't care what you have done.....how lost you think you are....how hopeless you think things are......I HAVE GREAT NEWS FOR YOU! It's NOT TOO LATE. God LOVES YOU! He wants YOU. All you have to do is accept His gift. IT'S RIGHT THERE FOR YOU! Jesus died on the cross for OUR SINS. The price for us has already been PAID IN FULL.
I will not be attending glamourcon or shooting anything else. The next and last person that will see and enjoy my body will be a husband AS GOD INTENDED! I have asked for forgiveness for what I have done AND HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN! I will spend the rest of my life doing the Lords will and the Lords work. I AM HIS!
I want you ALL to know that I love you very much.....you ARE MY FRIENDS! I want you to know God.....I want you to get out of this darkness...this saddness and follow the word of God. There is ONLY ONE WAY OUT!
I will not abandon you......
As always my email address to ALL of my friends and fans is: ericarosecampbel@aol.com. I understand that this is coming as a complete surprise to my loyal members who have joined my new site to support me and my new venture. I totally understand if you would like a refund for your membership. Please email me at: ericafanclub@gmail.com for a complete refund.
My life is beginning NOW. From this day on I will live HIS will and HIS way. My heart is HIS.
Serving Christ,
Erica
You always had more of a sweet vibe than other glamour models/porn stars, Erica. I hope you continue to get peace in your life. You've made a lot of men happy, so I guess it's time you found happiness yourself. And I know Teresa, for once, would approve.
And for anyone attacking her, there's nothing wrong with quitting porn for any reason... and be honest, wouldn't you rather have Erica Campbell out of porn, happy and alive than the precise opposite?
This blog is not affiliated in any way with Cindy Crawford. Even if she is its de facto inspiration. It's also not affiliated in any way with Hayden Panettiere, who's earned joint top billing on this blog because she makes me happy. And that ain't easy.

The Labels Post.
"The Panettiere Spot," one of my friends dubbed this. But is he right? There's only one way to find out - see how many posts up to now I have via category and sort out the top 10 (well, maybe a bit more than 10). With apologies to those that only had one or two posts (such as Alan Silvestri, Amy Adams, Elmer Bernstein and Tom and Jerry), gradual winnowing determined that the rankings, from 10 to 1, are:
10. sisters (9 labelled posts)
9. unbelievably strokeable women, soundtracks, work work work (10 each)
8. great legs, my favourite women, TV (11 each)
7. Erica Campbell, film music (12 each)
6. proper soundtrack albums (15)
5. Jessica Alba (22)
4. stunning brunette (27)
3. Heroes (31)
2. Hayden Panettiere (41)
And the number one subject posted about here is...
1. Cindy Crawford (63)
So by a margin of 22, this remains The Cindy Spot. So there, Rachel Bilson freak. :)

The Two Of The Finest Things In Life Post.
Well, in my view anyway. That would be music and women. The Television Production Music Museum handles the former, this gallery of Erica Rose Campbell attends to the latter.
One of these links isn't SFW. Guess which.

The 600th Post.
I decided to make a resolution this year... to buy all the specified albums on my Soundtracks To Get list down there. Mainly because I suck at exercising so resolving to go to the gym is out.
Being on Steve Sullivan's Glamour Girls group on Yahoo! is fun, not so much because of occasionally hearing from some of the ladies whose praises are sung but more because of getting introduced to Mystique women; first Jade Regier/Bianca (what is it with me and that name?) and now Jannah Burnham. Add to this Erica Campbell having modelled for them and I may have to link to that site.
Magazines to get: not Arena (though I do agree with Bar Rafaeli's claim that she's not a supermodel) or Esquire or UK GQ. More like Elle (the Alba!), Lucky (Hayden!) and Italian GQ (the Queen).
Finally... dear ITV1, are you really going to be showing Pushing Daisies at 11.30pm? Really?

The My Favourite Month Post.

April is the cruellest month, but December is my favourite. It means the end of another year, and Christmas - a time of peace (well, it should be), and when we see our successful sister Zeta. Or rather when I see her; Shaz is in Malta seeing her now. Add to this next Friday being a non-work day and I should be okay now.
Except that I'm on tenterhooks wondering if my wages are in. And that put a damper on my day off. Even more than the rain...
Enjoy, and see you later.

The The Last Legion Post.
I should not have gone to see The Last Legion on Friday night after work. Not only because the movie was a ridiculous mishmash - blending Roman invading forces, Romulus Caesar as a boy and the legend of King Arthur in a fashion that Xena: Warrior Princess would have handled a lot better, and so disjointed that if I didn't know better I would have sworn it was one of those "cut down from a miniseries"-type films (not to mention run through with weird casting like "Sir" Ben Kingsley's wise old bugger and Aishwarya Rai's warrior) - but also because it was at Enfield Cineworld. Which meant hours of travelling there and home again. And I am not a late night person.

And so tired was I when I finally got home that I wasn't up to going through my inbox and thus had to spend the next morning going through loads of emails (and images of Kyla Cole and Erica Campbell, illustrated above and below respectively).

Life, eh? Still, I must admit Aish did make me feel a bit.... warm. Not warm enough to put her on the staff, but it's a start.

The Pinch And A Punch Post.
November. Fireworks. Noise. Charming.
I wonder if we'll get any snow next month?
Anyway, this weekend should see the start of Ch.. Chr... man, I hate the thought of the C-word when it's not even December. But when your parents live overseas the sooner you ship your gifts the better, right?
And if Erica Campbell Googles her name and finds this blog, bless you for being the Best Dorothy Ever.

The Ratatouille Post.
Pixar's Cars was a bit of a disappointment, all told. So Ratatouille's indication that it was just a blip is a relief, as well as testament to Brad Bird's unwillingness to rush his movies (see the gaps between this, The Incredibles and The Iron Giant).

The movie works so well, even though I hate rats, because it skips so many of the obvious turns for something like this - if this had been from another company, mentioning no names (coughDreamWorkscough), you can bet that at some point we'd have heard Fergie or some such doing a version of "Rat In The Kitchen." This never happens here.

We also don't get emphasis on plot points you'd think would be of major, massive, climax-depending importance - when we hear about Linguini's link to Gusteau the expected ending (i.e. of his winding up owning the restaurant) does not come, and the expected romance between him and Colette is also not all that important to the movie... it's all about the food. And the characters.

It's funny but it's not really a comedy; Remy does look more cartoony than the other rats, but the movie never trades on his cuteness (and kudos to writer-director Brad Bird for having Remy communicate with Linguini without going the talking route), and though the animation's fabulous - the icing on the cake is the cel-animated end credit sequence - it never takes over the proceedings.

Add a rafter of marvellous voice actors (Patton Oswalt, Brian Dennehy, Ian Holm, Peter O'Toole, Janeane Garofalo, Will Arnett, Brad Garrett, John "No Pixar movie is complete without him" Ratzenberger...), throw in delightful Michael Giacchino scoring, and what have you got?

A gem.

Which only leaves the question of why this is illustrated with Monica Bellucci, Jessica Alba, Hayden Panettiere and Erica Campbell.

Simple. I still hate rats...

Get used to disappointment.
Cindylover1969: Hi Mike.
TheArchivist: Hey, Victor.
Me: Um... can you do me a favour?
Him: I hope I can. What would that be?
Me: You know that CD (The Film Music of Basil Poledourise Vol. 1) I sent you a while back? The one that I thought was a bootleg? And which was in fact a genuine promo? I was wondering if you could... um... copy it for me? If I can't find another copy, that is.
Him: Um... I'd gladly do the favour, but I kind of lost both of the CDs.
Me: That happens.
Him: Sorry. :-(
Me: No harm done.
Disappointment two: I did have a closeup NSFW picture of Erica Campbell's flawless ass here, but I just deleted it. Sorry. :( I'll write a story about it later if you like, but for now use your imagination.

Erica Campbell is better than the 2012 London Olympics logo. Discuss.

I realise that for a more balanced discussion I should have uploaded the official 2012 London Olympics logo as unveiled yesterday, but it's hideous (as one wag memorably described it, it looks like Lisa Simpson giving a blowjob). Even if I didn't think "sport" was a four-letter word I wouldn't desecrate this blog with a picture of it. Or a link to it; Google is your friend.

In any case, you'd rather look at or think about Erica. Trust me. And yes, there are more pictures in this set, but being Erica Campbell most of them are SFW in much the same way that Jerry Bruckheimer is poor.

The right kind of Campbell. As opposed to Naomi.
Me: Erica Campbell.
Jen: Meh. Too pornstary, IMO.
Me: How can a porn star be too pornstary?
Jen: I just don't find that type of shoot to be very alluring
Me: I might not either, if it was a different person. Personally I'd find Erica alluring if she was in a nun's habit.
Me again: Just for that, here's the very opposite of too pornstary. Kelly Clarkson :-D
Jen: *clicks* *raises eyebrow*
Me: Can't expect them to be on their marks all the time. :-)
Jen: I'm getting the Campbell thread again

S! A! T-U-R! D-A-Y! Er... Morning?
Cindy: Casino Royale getting all the Oscar nominations it deserves.
Feltz: The inevitable tabloid buzz over a British Invasion. Forgotten what happened the last time someone claimed the British are coming? (If Penelope Cruz wins I'll take a page from Bruce Willis in The Last Boy Scout and dance a jig.)
Cindy: The thought that some sucker who bet three thousand pounds that Craig would get an Oscar has gotten burned beyond recognition. (Fact: Thunderball is the only Bond movie to ever win one.)
Feltz: Lily Allen and Natasha Bedingfield being reported as "refusing to change for America." So they're still crap, I take it.
Cindy: Abbey National only taking £50 out of my account next month for overdrawings. On pay day. By my standards, that's dodging a bullet.
Feltz: My Auntie Joanie giving Sharon and Mum grief over land in the family. Let's just say I have the same warm feelings for her that Jen has for her mum and leave it at that.
Cindy: SNOW! It never snows at Christmas, but it does in January. Snow is rain with sex appeal. Snow makes nights brighter. Snow is soothing. I like snow.
Feltz: It might wind up like a few years back when six inches fell and turned getting home into a freaking nightmare. Not so much fun.
Cindy: Erica Campbell. Just because.

El movie
C/O The Bilson freak, with cheers to Varese Sarabande for releasing the score CD to Snakes on a Plane next month, and jeers to YouTube for pulling certain Erica Campbell and Hayden Panettiere videos before I could see them. Blast their violations of use policies.
1. Name a movie that you have seen more than 10 times.
Do Tom & Jerry cartoons count as movies? Seriously, I think Back to the Future might qualify.
2. Name a movie that you’ve seen multiple times in the theater.
Well, I had to sit through Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo at the cinema by myself and at the drive-in when my dad took us to see it, but the only real example that counts is Beauty and the Beast (I went to see it at a special Saturday morning showing at the Globe, and then when it got a rare regular engagement there as a leading feature - rare for a cartoon in those dim days of the early 1990s in Barbados - I went to see it again).
3. Name an actor that would make you more inclined to see a movie.
Laetitia Casta.
4. Name an actor that would make you less likely to see a movie.
Er... Freddie Prinze Jr.?
5. Name a movie that you can and do quote from.
Die Hard ("Welcome to the party, pal!").
6. Name a movie musical that you know all of the lyrics to all of the songs.
Beauty and the Beast probably comes closest.
7. Name a movie that you have been known to sing along with.
High School Musical. And the aforementioned Beauty and the Beast.
8. Name a movie that you would recommend everyone see.
Rock'N'Roll High School. The Ramones! The school being blown up!
9. Name a movie that you own.
Malena, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Into The Blue, Belleville Rendezvous, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Beauty and the Beast...
10. Name an actor that launched his/her entertainment career in another medium but who has surprised you with his/her acting chops.
Mos Def - excellent in 16 Blocks and Something The Lord Made.
11. Have you ever seen a movie in a drive-in?
Yep - On The Right Track (one of Gary Coleman's hiatus movies in the Diff'rent Strokes days), the 1976 King Kong, at least two of the Star Trek movies, Short Circuit, Back to the Future, The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Movie, Tron, Firefox, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial...
12. Ever made out in a movie?
No.
13. Name a movie that you keep meaning to see but just haven’t yet gotten around to it.
Pass.
14. Ever walked out of a movie?
I never walk out of a movie I haven't seen before.
15. Name a movie that made you cry in the theater.
Schindler's List came closest.
16. Popcorn?
I hate popcorn.
17. How often do you go to the movies (as opposed to renting them or watching them at home)?
Quite often. Unfortunately I haven't been this year because I've been ill...
18. What’s the last movie you saw in the theater?
The Holiday.
19. What’s your favorite/preferred genre of movie?
As Joe Bob Briggs put it, "A movie can be absolutely anything, except boring."
20. What’s the first movie you remember seeing in the theater?
Either Robin Hood or Island At The Top Of The World. As they were both Disney films it might have been on a double bill in 1974.

Winter sucks.
Especially when it rains and blows instead of snows. And you're trying to get rid of a cold that won't go away (damn sore throat). And the fridge won't keep stuff cold, just adding to Sharon's woes. And you've ripped one of your gloves.
And when you're watching a YouTube Glamourcon behind the scenes video with Erica Campbell, Jelena Jensen and Maggie Green as you've never seen them before (i.e. dressed) and the IM screen gets in the way... I joke, Mike.
