The Timing Is Everything Post.

BERLIN — US former supermodel Cindy Crawford says she would have little chance of making it big in the fashion business today with her curvy figure, a German celebrity magazine reported on Tuesday.

"I would not have become a supermodel in 2009. I look too healthy," Crawford told
Bunte.

"A body like mine with big breasts, normal thighs and toned upper arms" is no longer what the industry is looking for, she said.

Crawford, 43, said she was happy with her physique but worried about the effects of ageing like wrinkles and bulges.

"That's why I like being in my 40s so much -- being at peace with yourself, knowing about your strengths beyond being pretty," she said.

Crawford, known for her trademark beauty spot above her upper lip, briefly studied chemical engineering before becoming one of the world's most popular cover girls in the 1980s and 1990s.

The Vic Mizzy Post.

Percepto posted on the FSM talkboards on the passing of Vic Mizzy, aged 93, on Saturday. And while everybody knows the tunes he's most famous for, a listen to Percepto's Suites and Themes CD (one of several albums they did with him) shows he did a lot more - which is why I'm sorry that his wistful Kentucky Jones doesn't seem to be online, and why I'm glad Film24's been known to run The Deadly Hunt and Terror On The 40th Floor (fine TV movies they are not, but they gave Mizzy a chance to show his dramatic side).

Now you know why he has the video spot this week. RIP.

The Cindy Rocks London Post.

Omega's been good to Cindy, not least because Cindy's been good to Omega. After the Fantastic Mr. Fox premiere during her jaunt to London, Cindy opened their store in Westfield (a huge shopping centre... okay, mall... in West London around Shepherd's Bush).

The night before, DeKalb's finest was at a party thrown by Omega. She certainly looks like she was having a good time. And all without puking or upskirt opportunities for the paps (not that upskirts are done on purpose, it should be noted).

Cindy's legs are too sexy to leave those last few out, but the best picture of the lot is being left for last.

You are a class act, Cindy Crawford, and I love you.

The Fantastic Miss Fox Post.

Last night the London Film Festival opened with the world premiere of Fantastic Mr. Fox starring George Clooney, Bill Murray and an absent (thanks to flu) Meryl Streep. Not in the movie but on the red carpet was George's good mate Cindy (and Elisabetta Canalis, who bears quite a resemblance to Cindy... hmm), in London on Omega-related business, so there'll be more of her to come, for sure.

With thanks to here.

The Seven Reasons To See "Julie & Julia" Post.

1. It helps redeem Nora Ephron after scripting the overrated When Harry Met Sally... (and after what she did to Bewitched).

2. Amy Adams's performance, which more than makes up for Meryl Streep's overpraised comic turn (was the real Julia Child really the spiritual ancestor of Gladys from Sesame Street?).

3. Stanley Tucci as Mr. Child.

4. Alexandre Desplat's music.

5. The food!

6. The warmth and appeal it's full of.

7. Amy Adams lying face down on her bed in denim jeans, and later lying down in a shirt and nothing else. Does she even know how sexy she is?

The Second Alttiere Update Post.

So hot on the heels of the first one, Sci-Fi gets V, Human Target... and, peculiarly, Eastwick. Meanwhile, Sky1 has NCIS: LA (although FX has both NCIS and JAG, the latter first shown in the UK on Sky) and Channel 4's bought Accidentally On Purpose and The Good Wife for their digital E4 and More4 channels (The Good Wife fits in with More4 stablemates The Closer and Saving Grace, I guess).

But when's Heroes starting up on the BBC again, that's what I want to know? And what were Alexandre Desplat and Monica Bellucci thinking signing that Polanski petition (see also: all the others who did)?
